Between churches and palaces…there is no shortage of things to see in Trapani<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

There are many churches in the city. At the east end of the city center, on Pepoli Street<\/strong>, stands the largeAnnunziata <\/strong>complex, which is the city’s main monument. Behind the main altar is the<\/em> Chapel of Our Lady<\/strong>, which is accessed through a beautiful Renaissance arch, closed by a bronze lattice dating from 1591. Nearby is also the former convent that now houses the city’s main museum, the “Pepoli Museum<\/strong>.” <\/p>\n

The historic center is lined with a series of remarkable churches: the Church of St. Francis of Assisi<\/strong>, the Church of the Capuchins<\/strong>, the Church of St. Peter<\/strong> and <\/strong>That of Purgatory<\/strong>, located in the small square of the same name. <\/p>\n

The Cathedral<\/strong>, on Corso Vittorio Emanuele<\/strong>, dedicated to St. Lawrence<\/strong> and built in the 17th century on an earlier 14th-century building, is very beautiful.<\/p>\n

One of the city’s most attractive streets is Via Garibaldi <\/strong>lined with eighteenth-century palaces and churches, among which emerge Palazzo Riccio<\/strong> di Morana<\/strong>, crowned with statues, Palazzo Milo<\/strong> and the Badia Nuova<\/strong>(S. Maria del Soccorso<\/em>) one of the city’s oldest churches.<\/p>\n

The palace that scenically closes the street is Palazzo Senatorio<\/strong> (or Cavarretta<\/em>), whose facade is on two orders marked by columns and statues and is crowned by two large clocks. Next to it is the Clock Tower<\/strong> of thirteenth-century origin. <\/p>\n

Also worth visiting is Via Libert\u00e0,<\/strong> where the Renaissance-style Carmine<\/strong> Church founded by the Carmelite Fathers, Palazzo Fardella<\/strong> and Palazzo Sanseverino<\/strong> are located.<\/p>\n

The main streets, destinations for long walks, are Via G.B. <\/em><\/strong> Fardella, which runs through almost the entire city, and Corso Vittorio Emanuele<\/strong>. Especially in the evening, the streets become crowded with people spending hours in the various clubs. <\/p>\n

Also worth visiting<\/strong>: the Museum of Prehistory and Marine Archaeology<\/strong>, located in the Tower of Ligny<\/strong>, and the Nature Reserve of the Salt Pans<\/strong>, which run along the coastal stretch between Trapani<\/strong> and Marsala<\/strong> in a truly incredible setting where silence and tranquility reign.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
