Life

In a hilly area between Salemi and Calatafimi lies the small village of Vita. Here, too, the violent earthquake that shook the Belice Valley in ’68 left its mark: the town is practically divided into two areas: the partly uninhabited old town, where the Town Hall is located, and the new center. Vita has no significant artistic works but is nevertheless appreciable from a naturalistic and scenic point of view. Less than 2 km from the town is the Baronía Forest: an excellent hiking destination, thanks in part to the presence of areas equipped with wooden tables and barbecues for outdoor cooking. The environment is suitable for those who want to take walks, be in touch with nature and breathe clean air. Among the interesting events is the feast of Our Lady of Tagliavia.
