Paceco

The small agricultural town of Paceco lies close to the large salt pans that form the Oriented Nature Reserve of the Salt Pans of Trapani and Paceco. Surrounding the town is the very fertile countryside, renowned for the production of yellow melons, and the course of the Birgi River, in whose vicinity is the airport of the same name. The town, founded from scratch during the 17th century, consists of rectangular blocks, large scenic squares, Baroque churches and a Castle, unfortunately ruined by building speculation, located on the main road at the edge of the town center.
