A Trapani si vive una grande emozione, ovvero il ripetersi di una tradizione secolare che rappresenta la passione e la morte di Cristo: La Processione dei Misteri
Si tratta di 18 gruppi scultorei più due simulacri, realizzati in legno, tela e colla tra il XVII il XVIII secolo dalle fiorenti botteghe artigiane trapanesi
E’ una processione lunga e commovente nella quale si fondono fede, arte, storia e tradizione. Sebbene si sia in gran parte perduta la sacralità di un tempo, rimane il fascino di una tradizione che dura da oltre quattro secoli.
Ogni anno per il venerdì santo elle 14.00 in punto, i Sacri Gruppi escono dal- la chiesa barocca del Purgatorio, addobbati da fiori e ornati da antichissimi argenti, figli delle fio- renti botteghe artigiane trapanesi di un tempo, portati in spalla dai portatori(i massari) a tempo delle marce funebri intonate dalle bande musicali, per poi snodarsi lungo un percorso che tocca le principali vie della città, per quasi 24 ore e senza interruzioni. Durante la notte i Misteri percorrono le vie più caratteristiche e belle del centro storico, passando velocemente in mezzo alla gente senza bande e torio si riempie in crescendo per assistere a uno dei momenti più emozionanti della processione: L’entrata dei Sacri Gruppi nella chiesa. I Misteri entrano ad uno ad uno accompagnati dalle bande, c’è chi piange per l’emozione, chi applaude, chi prega I consoli dei propri gruppi e i massari accompagnati dalle bande portano gli antichi Misteri dentro la chiesa,entrando e uscendo dal portone fino a quando la musica finisce. La processione sta per finire con l’emozionante entrata dell’Addolorata, per mettere punto all’ennesima edizione della processione trapanese, sicuramente una delle più belle processioni del venerdì Santo in Italia.

In Trapani you experience a great emotion, namely the repetition of a centuries-old tradition that represents the passion and death of Christ: The Procession of the Mysteries
It consists of 18 sculptural groups plus two simulacra, made of wood, canvas and glue between the 17th and 18th centuries by the flourishing artisan workshops of Trapani
It is a long and moving procession in which faith, art, history and tradition merge. Although the sacredness of the past has been largely lost, the charm of a tradition that has lasted for over four centuries remains.
Every year on Good Friday at 2:00 p.m. sharp, the Sacred Groups leave the baroque church of Purgatory, decorated with flowers and adorned with ancient silver, the products of the once flourishing artisan workshops of Trapani, carried on the shoulders of the porters (the massari) in time with the funeral marches played by the musical bands, and then wind along a route that touches the main streets of the city, for almost 24 hours and without interruption. During the night the Mysteries walk through the most characteristic and beautiful streets of the historic center, passing quickly among the people without bands and the theater fills up in crescendo to witness one of the most emotional moments of the procession: The entrance of the Sacred Groups into the church. The misteri enter one by one accompanied by the bands, some cry with emotion, some applaud, some pray. The consuls of their groups and the massari accompanied by the bands carry the ancient Misteri into the church, entering and exiting the door until the music ends. The procession is about to end with the emotional entrance of the Addolorata, to put an end to yet another edition of the Trapani procession, certainly one of the most beautiful processions of Good Friday in Italy. https://misteri.trapaniwelcome.it/
